Bella returned the kiss and let her hands fall to his neck. Throughout this whole thing she was thinking about Edward. And how dis-loyal she was being to him. This was so-unfair! How come her gift had to be capturing the hearts of men. It did explain a lot but she still didn't want it! She wanted something like what Edward and Alice had. Like their ability of speed and seeing into the future. But no, she had to have the one that made her hurt people. And play with their feelings.
Bella mentally sighed at the thought of how many guy she would be hurting. Not only her best friend, but, when Edward found out about this, she was going to hurt him too. And Bella hated that idea; though she knew she owed Jacob this one moment; since Edward was going to have her for eternity. all of her, even her virginity.
Isabella listened to what he was saying and she let out a real sigh. One that could be heard. Until she heard those three words. You kill me. At that her heart learched into her stomach and Bella thought she was going to get sick. "Don't say that Jacob. Please don't say I'm going to kill you."
But then she heard the other three words that stomach lurch again. She loved him too. But not the way she loved Edward. Yes, she may have loved Jacob but she was in love with Edward.
"I love you too Jake. " She whispered to him. And seconds later she looked around and saw Edward standing there. At that there was no lurching involved; her stomach just dropped. Along with her heart. Bella un-wrapped her legs and carefully allowed herself to plant her feet on the ground. Then she walked over to Edward and stopped so she was in front of Edward. "Edward I can explain. Please just let me." While she said this she looked back at Jacob and then began absentmindedly twirling her beautiful engagement ring on her left ring finger.

Her returning words was all he wanted to hear. 'I love you too' is what she had said. He felt that light of hope again. That she woudl come back to him. But it soon shattered as the smell and sight of Edward Cullen arrived in front of them. His heart sank as he knew his final moment with Bella was finished. He'd never have her again. After what just happened and Edward seeing it. The vampire would never let her out of his sight. Jacob couldn't understand why she would let him take a hold of her liek this, like a prisoner.
When she tryed to slip from him he gripped her tighter at first causing her to struggle but knew he couldnt hold on to her forever and let go of her. She ran to the bloodsucker and watched her flaunt her ring. It was a slap, no a cold hard punch to the face for him. She had just gone through those spectacular few minutes with him and now she acted as if it did not happen.
He turned to Edward growling a little. "You leech. You already have her as your prisoner. I just wanted her to have one last taste of freedom" he said to Edward. Right now he wanted to attack, to prove to Bella that Edward wasn't necessarily stronger. ALl Jacob had to do was clear his mind. THen it was a fair fight. Edward couldnt predict his moves if Jacob didn't think about them. That would prove to be difficult but he was willing to give it a try if Edward provoked him enough.

If I could dream at all, it would be about you And I'm not ashamed of it The forest was different compared to the group of trees in the park. It was alot darker for one. The sense of safety wasn't as strong here as it was there. Edward could tell just by smelling that many creatures lived amongst these trees. Many creatures with dark intentions. Of course there would also be those creatures of innocence, they always dwelt in forests and this one wouldn't be any different. You could sense the fear from those creatures though. The air was thick with it. They must have seen some horrors in their time. Edward knew though, that for now, he was not alone. A mere mortal would never dare enter the forest on their own at this hour. Apart from him, but then he wasn't human. He was a Vampire.
She wants him instead.
The thought clouded over his head like an ominous cloud ready to shoot lighting and destroy him. Edward stood picturesque in the rain, tall, muscular and stunning. The rain didn’t drench the vampire, for it was a mere drizzle, which was nothing new in Forks. There was not a moment in the small town where it wasn’t raining or wasn’t about to. It was all so perfect. If it hadn’t been for the weather, the secretive world that Carlisle had created would have been in vain due to their constant iridescent skin in sunlight
The brilliant gold radiated from his eyes as they stole a glimpse of the night, the color of his surroundings fading and twisting into a grey and sliver shade. Although a Vampire, he liked the moon; watching it and holding its beauty made him feel that he wasn’t damned for all eternity. The forest cried a desperate plea for light as it was immersed in the wondrous moonlight. His gaze was however locked on the woman in-front of him, a frown playing upon his lips. Vampires were good at just staring, either it be out of curiosity or in this case, wonder.
Edward couldn't help himself. He wrapped his arms protectively around Bella as soon as she'd made it to his side, golden eyes closing for a brief moment as he took in her scent. "Bella," he muttered, still breathing in her floral scent. "You don't have to explain anything." He finally let his eyes open, letting his gaze rest on her face.
Jacob's thoughts were so loud and clear, Edward could have sworn that the werewolf actually spoke them. A growl reverberated through his chest, bubbling out from his throat as he pursed his lips. "I'm not here to fight you, Jacob." As much as Edward hated the boy standing before him, and as much as he wanted to rip him to shreds, he couldn't. He could never do that to Bella. Make her witness something like that. The poor girl would be traumatized, no doubt. Jacob was her best friend, after all. Of course, Edward hated acting like a monster in front of Bella, but he couldn't deny it; he was a monster. And even if Bella looked past this fact, it would still remain true.

"But I do Edward!" Bella was about to argue with him on that subject until she felt his arms wrap around her waist. Instead of talking anymore she let her head rest against his chest and her arms wrap around his neck. There was no denying t he love that she shared with Edward. But she also couldn't deny what had just happened between her and Jacob. He had saved her life practically that night in the tent. As much as Edward would love to forget about it; it still happened. So she figured she at least owed Jacob that one moment of love. Before she was changed into Edward's kind. Before the day that would change her life forever.
Smiling she kissed his neck gently and quickly so that Jacob wouldn't attack Edward then and there. And she turned her eyes to look at Jacob while Edward had his eyes closed. To show that she wouldn't forget about what had just happened. And that she did enjoy it at least a little; but, she was in love with somebody else. She sighed and turned her attention back to Edward just in time to hear him speak to Jacob. And now; it was her turn to close her eyes.
"Edward I really do need to explain. It's not fair. It's not fair what I'm doing to the both of you!" She spoke before hearing Jacob.
Then she snapped her eyes open and turned around to face Jacob, her body placed in front of Edward and her fingers twined with his, holding their twined hands on her waist.
"Jacob!" She scolded him for the prisoner comment and for calling her fiance' a leech.

Jacob could feel his heart being wrenched from his chest. He couldn't beleive how quickly she could jump the fence. He didn't know whether to be angry at Edward, Bella, or himself. He figured beign angry at Edward was the easiest route. He glared at the bronze haired boy. Rage filled Jacob's eyes as he looked at his enenmy, the man who stole his beloved Bella. Why did he have it so easy? His kidn seemed to have it so easy, but espescially Edward. Here he was, able to take off and break Bella's heart. Jacob had to pick up the pieces and mend her back together and once he returned what did Jacob get? Nothing. It wasn't fair in any way shape or form to him and it was the major reason he despised Edward. The fact that he was a vampire was even worse, like the cherry on top of all problems.
Jacob watched Bella cuddle and caress with him. He turned to begin to leave. He couldnt take this anymore. "Have a nice life Bella" he said. He quickly began to sprint and phase into wolf form as he sprinted away. He knew if he stood there any longer he would throttle Edward. That would upset Bella. He thought about it, why did he put her happiness before his own if she didnt return the favor. He realized thats why her and Edward worked well together, in that one way. They both put each other first.
In all of Jacob's life he'd enver been put first, never. It was always the pack, or his dad, or whatever else but never him. He suddenly felt lower than the dirt beneath his paws...and that's where he kind of wanted to be right now.

"Have a nice life Bella"
It was as if someone took a dagger and stabbed her heart. Her best friend just told her goodbye. Bella prayed that it wasn't good-bye. Because she wasnt' sure if she could handle it if it was. At least, until Edward bit her.
Why did she have to have the gift that Jacob said she did. It was so hard and she felt horrible. Not too mention she always wanted to cry when Jake left her like this.
Bella turned around and shouted. "JAKE!" She was desperate to get her best friend back. For a few moments Bella began running trying to catch up with him. But it was pointless. It would be like her trying to catch up with Edward. It was impossible.
So she just gave up and felt herself plop down on the ground. Tears were threatening to come from her eyes. This was not how she was planning on saying good-bye.
"Jacob....."
Bella whispered and felt herself pull her knees up to her chest and lay her head on them, praying that this wasn't the last time she was going to see him again.

Jacob continued to run. He heard a faint shout and knew it would be Bella calling out for him. Should he return? Like always? How could he. WHy did she insist on doing this to him? He sudddenly heard the voices of his pack in his head.
Jake come back...dont set yourself up for more pain man...she's not worht it
Its over dude...she doesnt want you...she wants that bloodsucker
Jake...come home...please...dont make this harder for yourself
He could tell the final ovice was Sam's. He knew the pack was family. Deep down he knew that Sam knew how Jacob didnt exactly like his fate he was forced to accept by birth. He figured that's why Sam took him under his wing to help lead the pack. It was true Jacob was probably the best fighter next to Sam...amybe even better. But of all the wolves he probably disliked being a hairy beast more than the rest of them.
He wondered if he was, well, more human, like Bella, would she choose him? Probably not, obviously she had a thing for mosnters. He stood at the edge of a ridge. He wondered what was happening behind him. He could imagine the scene. Edward taking Bella into his arms telling her sorry and that she didnt need that Jacob, that life would go on. That put an anger in him and a growl in his chest.

If I could dream at all, it would be about you And I'm not ashamed of it All was still in this night. The tree branches silent, the leaves lying still. Everything was still. Even the moon seemed to stop in it's rotation, sending a eeiry glow over Forks. Suddenly everything burst to life. A wind picked up, weaving through the bare tree branches of the maples and oaks, and past the bushing pines. The trees creaked and moaned from the forceful gust. Along with the trees were the leaves from the last fall. They floated up from their deaths, whirling around in the air. Little animals scurried into their dens, and birds that were still awake fluttered to their nests. They were all hiding, hiding from the terror of the night. The Vampire.
The first sign of rain was when a single droplet of water plummeted through the sky and landed on Edward’s cheek. That single drop was then followed by two more, and a couple seconds later, the clouds opened and began to pour. His silky, auburn hair was soon drenched and dripping with the water. His head swiveled around, taking in his surroundings. He couldn’t see a lot of anything, since everything was blocked with the sheets of rain. He squinted as the water traveled down his forehead and into his eyes. It was then, as he sprinted after Bella, that he noticed her curled up into a ball, and shivering.
Time seemed to stop as he stared down at her. Bella looked oddly different, almost dead. Her lips were an odd shade of purple, and her eyes looked almost bloodshot and scared. Her teeth chattered audibly from where he was standing, and his eyes widened as his mind filled up with an unusual confusion.
"Oh, Bella.... What did he do to you now?"
Without waiting for a reply from Bella, he quickly strided over towards his love, his expression very stern and his brows furrowing in concern. He knew it wouldn't help since he was ice cold and his body felt like stone, but he wrapped his arms around Bella, embracing her tightly. "Everything is going to be alright, Bella" he choked out, "You're going to be alright..." His voice was practically shaking now, for he couldn't stand to see Bella in this sort of transfixed state. He leaned away from Bella, looking deeply into her chocolate-colored eyes. His own eyes had changed from a deep onyx to a light ocher color from his recent huntings, a habit his eyes had of doing ever since he had become a vampire almost a hundred years ago.
Edward embraced Bella again, her skin was piercing cold which was rather unusual since her skin was always so warm - something he had grown fond of. He wrinkled his nose as he leaned closer to her, realizing she smelled like a dirty dog. But the rain was beginning to help eliminate the odor, and in a few minutes, the scent was gone.
He knew he would hate himself for saying this, but he absolutely dreaded seeing Bella in such a miserable state. "Maybe you should go after him, Bella. He didn't get too far. If you go now, you might be able to catch him."

It was as if the weather seemed to match her mood. Earlier when she had been thinking the weather had been fine. It was a little chilly but the sun was out and that pretty much balanced the weather. But now, as she found herself curling up in a ball; and whispering Jacob's name as she cried and felt like a bitch for breaking Jacob's heart once again; the crystal clear pellets seemed to race down her pale skin. Which was even paler at this point in time. It was almost if not paler then the moon itself.
Don't cry. Her mind told her. She shouldn't cry. She didn't want Edward to see her this way. She had to compose herself. She had promised him that she wouldn't cry over Jacob like that again. And she was bound determined to keep that promise. But she had already broken it a little by shedding a few tears on him. And now; she was just trying to maintain the other half of the promise as she tried to compose herself before she went home which she knew Edward was sure to be.
"He didn't do anything to me Edward. It's what I..." She began and tried to retstrain against her sobs. "It's, what I did to him." Soon she found her teeth chattering as her whole body began to erupt with violent shivers from the cold rain that seemed to favor Forks more then any other place in the world. Which she knew she would be thankful for after Edward bit her.
After what seemed like seconds later she got what she wanted. Edward had his arms wrapped around her and she buried her face in the crook of his neck. And she clung onto him as if she was about to die. His soothing words again; were a melody to her ears. And that's all she ever wanted to hear again.
Ten minutes later she finally seemed to have calmed down. And she pulled back her face and wiped where she had cried with one of her arms. And then she just stayed there. Resting her head against his chest, in the rain.
"I love you so much Edward. Please; never leave me."
Bella knew she didn't have to say that but she did anyways. The never leave me part. Mainly so that she could use it as an excuse to hear his voice once more without begging him to speak.
"I don't know if I should. I might go later. Charlie wanted me to pay Billy a visit with word that he just arrived at his convention and it got extended another week. Right now I'm just going to stay with you."
Bella gave her fiancee' a smile and moved some of her wet hair out of her face so she could see him clearly. Even if the mirrors couldn't. [/blockquote]

If I could dream at all, it would be about you And I'm not ashamed of it Edward Cullen was in love. He didn’t bother trying to deny it. Bella was the light of his life, and every thought he had, every idea that formed in his head, somehow could irrevocably be related to her. His world revolved around her actions, her heartbeat, the scent she left behind wherever she went and basically what she did on a minute to minute basis. He considered the greatest sensation he had ever felt to be his arms wrapped around her, just like they were right now.
Perhaps it was bordering on obsession. Edward didn’t know nor did he care. All he knew for certain was that Isabella Swan was the most incredible creature to walk the earth, and he wanted to spend every moment of every single day with her, and when he couldn’t be with her, he was content to fantasize about her. So yes, Edward Cullen was in love, and his family was, to say the least, dumbfounded about it. “She is so amazing,” Edward would say, and his sister Rosalie was known to reply, “I don’t know, Edward, she’s just so, so.. So human!”
“I know!!”
His cheery demeanor almost never faded when Bella was the topic of the conversation, except when there was the possibility that any form of harm would befall his most precious and beloved Bella whom he held most dear to his heart, and sometimes didn’t stop talking about for several hours on end, while his brother thought of various ways in which to kill himself so he wouldn’t have to listen anymore. Sometimes Edward would leave town for a few days at a time, and he would go a little bit crazy with worry, and he would bribe his sister with fancy sport cars to kidnap Bella while he was gone. “Just to keep her safe!!” he would insist, but Alice often noticed the hint of insanity glittering in his eyes.
He wanted to hold her close; wanted to feel the rise of her chest against his skin. He wanted to press her to him, wanted to whisper endearments in her ear and have her return them. Soft breath against his cheek. Breathing in himself, wanted to draw her scent into him, intoxicating, beautiful scent, one like no other, one he’d never smelled before.
He wants to kiss her lips. Lips red like blood pooling into flushed cheeks when she blushed. Delicious delicious shades of red. She tasted like nothing else in the world. There’s no way to describe something so perfect except to use the words heaven, angels, and ‘closer to God.’ He wanted to kiss her and kiss her and kiss her with his teeth only.
He loved the feel of his hands entwined through her hair. Her locks are brown, dark dark brown, and thick. Full and lustrous and soft. He wanted, everyday, to twist the locks around his fingers, curls that lead to spirals that lead to coils to circles to loops of the most overpowering scent in the world.
He wanted to pull her near, lights like fire above, shadows like demons below, wanted to dance with her in his arms. If the music kept playing, then so would he. It’s filling, but better than the rhythm of the pulse in her veins. He can hear it loud above the sounds when he puts her head on his chest. He hears rattling lungs, swallowing throat, and a beating heart.
He wanted too much from her. And most of it he can never have.
He wanted to feel her beneath him when he's kissing her, hands on her waist, stomach on stomach, lips on her neck. He wanted to hear his name from her lips on the cusp of pleasure. He wanted to make her his, one hundred percent, in so many ways. He wanted to see her in her wedding dress, white, satin, ivory, whatever, red.
He wanted to spend forever with her. He wanted happiness. Her happiness. But she wasn't happy then, because she still had feelings for Jacob, no matter how hard she tried to deny it. It was amazing how one person could change everything. And even more surprising, was how much pain this one person could inflict on Bella.
Edward simply continued holding her, his eyes slightly closed as he slowly hummed her lullaby. He knew the melody could always calm her down, no matter the situation. "I could never leave you, my Bella," he murmured, as Bella's sobs of pain echoed off into the darkness of the forest. "I could never, ever leave you."
