Jacob and the pack were off. They had been tracking a new vampire in town. The vamp had brought three friends and had been terrorizing nearby towns. Sam decided that they needed to take care of it, before the Cullens tried to get involved. Sam didn't feel the need to involve them 100% of the time with their dealings.
Unfortuantaely they underestimated the group. It turned out there was more than the 4 of them but actualyl a group that outnumbered the wolves. Perhaps the rogiinals had created some new friends. They managed to kill off the young ones but as for the four two of them were more powerful than the rest. These were the two that happened to get hold of Jacob Black.
Sam knew Jake had been out of it ever since his final goodbye to Bella. He was a sloppy fighter, not on his game and that made Sam nervous to bring him along for this hunt. But Jacob had Begged Sam to let him. Against his better judgement Sam agreed and now was paying the price.
The two vamps had taken Jacob and sprinted off. They were fast, much faster than the Cullens to Sam's surprise and they roughed Jake up pretty badly. Much like the fight that had with Victoria's little pack. Sam and the pack had brought Jacob back to his home in La Push to recoup.
Sam knew the pain in his heart would slow the recovery of his body. Sam needed Jacob to be strogn again, physically and mentally. He needed Edward to help straighten some things. Sam figured maybe Edward could trace his thoughts. It was worth a shot: Edward, I need you to come speak to Jacob. Put an end to all this. He needs closure and I think only you can give it to him since Bella can't seem to.
Sam waited by Jacob's bedside as Jake rested.

If I could dream at all, it would be about you And I'm not ashamed of it Edward could feel his eye color changing slowly to a dull ocher color, a sign showing that he was well-fed and satisfied. "Good catch today," he said, his crooked smile appearing on his handsome face, "Finally caught a mountain lion after so many months." He let out a hearty laugh as he, Jasper, and Emmett followed the hiking trail with Carlisle leading the hunting pack, a fatherly smile set on Carisle's movie-star face.
He sighed heavily, hearing the trudging footsteps of his adopted brothers and his adopted father. He had a feeling that Charlie wasn't taking the whole marriage thing well. But he couldn't exactly blame him; Bella had just graduated high school and Edward was sure Charlie didn't want Bella to set foot on the same tracks of her mother and father's mistake of early marriage. Another problem was the werewolves of La Push. Would they dare stop the marriage? Stop Bella from marrying him? The thought of the werewolves keeping Bella away from him irked him, and he hadn't realized he was growling lowly.
The four vampires veered a sharp right and finally exited out of the entrance of the deep forest; where Edward had once taken Bella to show her the beautiful meadow that lay deep in the depths of the forest, still untouched by anyone else besides them. That was the day he had shown her what would happen if he ever set foot in the bright and brilliant sunlight; his skin would dazzle and sparkle like small glittery diamonds, openly revealing his vampirism in some way. He heaved out another sigh, a sigh of reminiscence. From his peripheral vision he could see Jasper shoving his hands deep into his pockets and Emmett scratching the back of his head out of boredom as they entered the back door of the Cullen Manor.
Edward, I need you to come speak to Jacob. Put an end to all this. He needs closure and I think only you can give it to him since Bella can't seem to.
The Vampire groaned at these words, wondering if it would be a wise thing to go and see Jacob. Would Bella be alright with it? But Edward figured that what Bella didn't know, wouldn't hurt her.
"Uh- Carlisle? Emmet? Jasper? I have to go do something. I'll be back in a bit." Even so, Edward was suppose to be visiting Bella's house tonight. He did every night, but tonight, he had to go to Jacob's house to take care of a few things. He walked down the length of the wet driveway, his shoes sloshing from the puddles beneath him. The cold wind whipped at his ice skin, but he had never felt so alive in decades; there was something about this night that pulled at him, though he couldn't pinpoint what.
Crossing over the pavement, Edward reached into his pocket and pulled out his keys to his silver Volvo. A small click sounded and he slid himself in with complete ease. Jamming the keys into the ignition, he started his car; and without further ado or a backwards glance at the small house, he drove off - already hitting 70 at the corner.
Minutes ticked by as he passed a few more roads that stayed inert in the shining of the waxing moon. He cursed softly to himself when the light had gone red on the traffic light; he tapped his long, pale fingers against the steering wheel, a steady beat composing itself. His ocher-colored eyes drifted off in front of him, and as the traffic light turned green, he edged the silver car forward once more. Veering a right, he parked his silver Volvo silently - two parking spaces away from Jacob's house. He eyed the house cautiously as he opened the door to his Volvo and stepped out, beginning to wonder if this was some kind of trap.
At a speed much faster than any human on the face of this world, Edward ran into the house, zooming through the rooms before finding Jacob, obviously injured as he laid sprawled across his bed. Sam was there, too. Kneeling besides the young boy with a look of confusion on his dark features. His ocher-colored eyes widened at what he had seen, "Sam?" his musical voice called softly, aware that Jacob was currently asleep. He brushed a few strands of hair in front of his face before taking one more step forward. "Why did you call me here, Sam? It's ten past 12." Edward looked down at his wrist-watch for compatibility of his estimated guess, his eyes flickering back to Sam in careless confusion.

Sam had been at Jacob's bedside. Billy made meals for them and was glad that Sam was so concerned for Jacob. Sam felt a stinging sensation in his nostrils instantly sensing that Edward was here. He heard the vampire gracefully barge in and speak elloquently. Sam stood as gracefulyl as Edward had entered. Sam was proof that Wolves could be just a polite and proper as any vamp. It was probably a major reason the Cullens were willing to respect the back. He looked at Edward seeign the annoyance on his face. "I thought you vampires don't sleep" he stated. "I apologize if the time was inconveniant. He'll be up soon" he said.
"Listen Cullen..." Sam began "Bella broke his heart, more than once. We do love, she's a great girl, but we know she has chosen your kind. Our problem is that Jacob still can't accept that" he said."You need to do whatever it takes or say the cruelest thing to snap him out of this. If your nervous about him attacking I wouldnt be. He's far to weak and even if he tries he wont be able to overcome his pain." he said. "Please Edward. I need you to do this for us...the pack needs him.Look at him, this was from a couple of vamps. He's been carelessly fighting, not caring if he lives or dies and I can't have that. Not only will he get hurt but he's endangering his pack" he said.
Sam headed for the door "I'll leave you two alone..if you need me I'm outside with Billy" he said. He closed letting Edward take over.
Jacob was still asleep and did not awake till about 20 minutes later. He awoke to a foul stench and looked up seeing a bronze haired pale figure. "Oh my God I awoke to my nightmare" he said aloud.

If I could dream at all, it would be about you And I'm not ashamed of it Though he had tried to keep it from showing, a frown became visible on Edward's lips. He had been on the edge for quite awhile, now. There was plenty of planning to get done for the wedding, and he hadn't remembered a moment in the past few days when he had been idle, not being dragged around by Alice, pulled aside by Carlisle, or trying to figure out what was going to happen, right to the point. Let alone have any free time to come and see his mortal enemy, Jacob Black. And if he wasn't planning, and pondering, he was hunting. Always hunting. There would be no mistakes on his wedding day, and he had requested, no, demanded, everyone in the family do the same. Even Carlisle, who had years and years of experience seemed to be hunting more. So many humans in one place was never a good thing, and they were always planning for the worst. It didn't matter that Alice was keeping tabs so carefully she couldn't possibly miss anything. Not to him.
But the smile came back to his face as he remembered the girl he was marrying. The beautiful creature who he was quite proud to announce himself engaged to, and he nodded. He’d never dreamed he would be acting in such a fashion, however Isabella did this. She gave him laughter and love, and a reason to wake up each night. She gave him reason to dread the sun, when before he could have cared less, and made him want to spend every waking moment with her. In short, she made him love her beyond reason, and the fact they were together again after all they’d been through made him want to soar in joy. Yes, this was all worth it, even his promise. He cringed at the thought, his fists clenching, stretching the already pale skin; he would not think of that, not now. Edward sighed, his eyes turning to the door of Jacob's room, warily. Any moment now, Jacob would probably try and kill him. It was no surprise that Jacob hated him with a mad and fiery passion. And if Edward were to put himself in Jacob's position, Edward was pretty sure he'd act the exact same way.
"Oh my god I awoke to my nightmare.
Edward smiled, "Oh but Jacob, Sam asked me to come." His voice was sickeningly sweet as he spoke, which he knew would drive Jacob mad with irritation. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to try and put some sense into you." His eyes flashed again, his thoughts racing. He glanced back at Jacob, an encouraging facade flittering across his face as he grinned broadly.

Jacob looked at Edward his blood boiling with anger. He could here Sam in his head and presumed Edward was listening in.
Jacob, I did send him. Please hear him out. This is for your own good/
Jacob looked at the young man in front of him. Here stood the one thing that kept him from being with the love of his life. Unfortunately Bella happened to be the love of Edward's life as well. He couldnt stand it and the fact that his own pack had brought him here disgusted him. He felt betrayed by his own kind. He looked up at Edward. "The only reason I'm listening is because I can't move" he said.
His voice was filled with anger. He hated this creature in front of him. Not only for what he was, but what he had done to him. He was the cause for the hole inside of him that needed to be filled with one he cared for. He thought that person was Bella...hell he was certain. But Edward had and was about to drive the final stake of insurance that that hole would never be filled with Bella's love.

If I could dream at all, it would be about you And I'm not ashamed of it Jacob's thoughts should have been insulting, but Edward understood completely. His mortal enemy was in his room, and was asking for permission to speak with him. His mind replayed through the happenings of the last few days with Bella -- most of which were excruciating for Edward to experience. He realized he wasn’t alone in wondering where her head might be at this moment.
It’s a little unsettling how irony works. Edward thought about the many times in the past where he would have gladly ripped his competitor limb from limb, breaking every last bone in his body. Yet here Jacob was, bruised and broken, and all Edward felt was a peculiar sense of brotherhood. How could he fault Jacob for loving Bella as fiercely as Edward loved her himself? That would make him the worst kind of hypocrite. Edward released his frustration in a sigh that was probably going to be ignored by Jacob. This whole situation was hopeless. No matter how you sliced it, someone was going to get their heart broken. And Edward just prayed that it wouldn’t be him.
Edward was sure that being there with Jacob would come as a shock to anyone who had seen the two nearly at each other’s throats. This situation aside, they hated each other and when it was over, they would probably hate each other again. He'd given a lot of thought to the conversation he was going to have with Jacob when he came to visit, but he was still unsure. Edward had so much to say, but he didn't even know where to start.
"Why are you doing this to yourself, Jacob?" Edward spoke in an authoritative tone, taking two large strides towards the bed before taking a seat in a nearby chair. "She made her choice. She broke your heart without a second thought, and yet, here you are, still crying over the pain." The vampire hadn't meant to be that straightforward, but when he had started the sentence, the words had just sorta flooded out from his lips. Edward knew the words would hurt Jacob, he knew that, but the werewolf needed to hear the truth.

Jacob wasn't going into this chat open minded, even after the advice of his fellow pack in his head. He looked at Edward when down as he rested in bed. He looked up to see Edward and his almighty appearance. As if everyone knew he was the champion of Bella's heart and he went around flaunting it. It killed Jacob.
When he heard the vampire speak he didnt want to hear any part of this. The worst part was he was right. Bella and him would never be togehter, she did make her choice. Whe did he have to stress out about it .Why couldnt he stip loveing her. All he could do was simpyl glare at Edward without a word.He looked at him then down again. He sank into the covers with pain and agony
